The Municipality of Penacova and the NATIVA Association – Nature, Invasive and Environmental Valorization promoted a training action on the Vespa Velutina - Methods of control and survival of hives, on June 30, 2018. The Municipality of Vila Nova de Poiares promoted an awareness-raising action on Vespa Velutina, commonly known as the 'Asian wasp', in partnership with ESAC – Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra and NATIVA Association, with the aim of raising awareness of the care to be taken, and transmit to the population the most effective methods to combat this invasive species. On February 27, 2018, Lousãmel - Cooperativa Agrícola dos Apicultores da Lousã e Concelhos Limitrofes, CRL hosted the Workshop “Vespa Velutina Nigrithorax”.
